Ossie Clark python long coat
This Ossie Clark coat has a biker jacket style body and it is incredibly meticulous paneled. It has no pockets and the zip - marked as "X-RO" with "CLIX" on the fastener - runs from the waist to the left colar. The lower part, from the waist down, is fastened with clips. The coat bears the label Ossie Clark London (photo 4) and its original lining.
Ossie Clark first started to use snakeskin in his collections sometime around 1966 after he discovered several rolls of untouched python and water snake skins on a warehouse. The first outfit he did was a suit modelled by Linda Keith in April 67 and the rest is history...Clients at the time included Marianne Faithfull, Anita Pallenberg, Britt Ekland, Twiggy and Keith Richards.
